Still looking (over 5 years) for a complete lateral guide roller assembly to run atop the sound drum on an antique Ballantyne Model 6 soundhead.

I might mention that the roller was apparently removed from the unit in favor of a smooth metal pressure plate which extends down from the projector head. Has anyone ever seen this type of system?

It allows the film to exert just enough pressure on the sound drum to make it turn--but there is no apparent way to fine tune the lateral adjustment. As such, it usually works OK on older prints, but is not accurate enough for newer trailers and prints with time codes adjacent to the analog track. Often a "buzz" can be heard in the background from the time code. I can sometimes reduce this by slightly tilting and changing alignment of the exciter lamp--but the original lateral adjustment roller would be a much better solution.

Would consider buying a complete or junked Model 6 for parts so long as the top guide roller is complete. Please let me know if you have an old one collecting dust and can possibly help out. Many thanks.

Ed
