Just noticed that the product page for the ICMP-X mentions support for 3 x 4 TB drives now, for an effective storage of 8 TB:
https://www.barco.com/en/product/barco%20alchemy%20icmp-x#specs

On the old ICMP's page, only 1 and 2 TB drives are listed:
https://www.barco.com/en/product/barco-alchemy-icmp#specs

Any idea what's going on there? Barco's spare part catalogue doesn't seem to list 4 TB drives yet...

OK, never mind... I was just pointed (off-forum) to a current version of the ICMP/ICMP-X HDD installation manual, and it's all there.

In short: there's a specific 4 TB SSD (not a HDD) that is approved by Barco, but you'll need the new storage controller to be able to use them. And while the ICMP-X ships with the new controller, the old ICMP doesn't – it can be upgraded with one, though.

Nice [thumbsup]

Perfect!

Do note that we don't have a specific preference HDD-vs-SSD. Tthe 4TB is SSD (and not HDD) because that is the only way to fit that amount of storage in a 2.5" format.

Yeah, that's what I figured! Also: I just read the Barco Series 4 thread where this was covered already in June... Looks like I haven't been paying attention here during the summer [Wink]
