We were showing Belle Du Jour last night, and got a warning from our Christie 2210 saying that our connection to the ICP had been lost. Belle Du Jour continued to play, but the subtitles had disappeared. Anyone else had a case of the disappearing subtitles?

I've screened the film several times before over the past week, and it's been fine. I'm guessing the missing subs have something to do with the ICP warning?

Maybe a reboot will fix it but reseating the ICP & PIB would be a good plan. If subs are generated in the projector, the ICP is doing it.

A power cycle seems to have fixed it (of course), but yeah, re-seat. Good call. We're having our tech come in next week for the annual State Of The Projector visit. I'll make sure to get him to do that before he splits. Thanks guys.

Interesting - just had the same thing happen with an NC3240 - subtitles crapped out in the middle of a movie. No error messages reported in this case, though. A cold reboot fixed it.

I hope this isn't a pattern / known bug in the current ICP firmware (my case was on an ICP with version 4.54 - out of interest, what is yours?). Cold rebooting a projector is not a problem if you're test screening something at 9am, but if the subtitles disappear with 350 people in the house, just as M. Poirot or Inpector Lohmann is about to reveal who the murderer is, then a 15 to 20-minute interruption (which is realistically what you're looking at, given the time needed to cool the bulb) would be a real bummer.
