Hi, any Dolby Cineasset user here?
I am experimenting with creating a Multi-CPL DCP´s instead of just OV and VF´s as i thing at is better when sending DCP´s to festivals so they can just load in the CPL they need and everything will work instead of them accidentally load only the VF and therefor thinking the DCP is corrupted since loading only the VF will fail.

Cineasset handles very well importing of multi cpl DCP´s and i know multi cpl dcp´s can also be created in Cineasset but i am not really figuring out how it is done.

Hi,

it depends on the servers or TMS ingest behaviour wether they ingest Multi-Composition DCPs in one go or separately. My personal preference usually is to ingest every CPL separately. The reason is simple - I usually can not trust that what comes in a package is exactly what I need - so I have to check every CPL thoroughly anyway. For separate packages, I check what I need. For bundled packages, I usually have to deselect those that I don't need.

Can't help you with creating multi CPL DCPs in Cineasset, I still have to get a go with their Demo. I have a feature suggestion for DCP-o-matic to include that feature. The problem is that so far it is hard to find a proper place for that function in the current GUI/App structure. In my opinion, a separate App just for bundling/unbundling would be best.

Hello Gunnar, Good question. Here is how you’d do it:

1. From the database, select the CPL’s that need to be packaged together.
a. NOTE: All CPL’s must be the same standard. (IOP with IOP and SMPTE with SMPTE). You cannot mix IOP with SMPTE.
2. Right click, and select Export.
3. Once the Export window opens, select Export to Digital Cinema Package (DCP).
4. After Selecting Export to DCP, you’ll see an option for “Export all DCP’s to the same folder”. Select this and click OK.
