Hey guys,

Just started the festival season with some new issues with KDMīs.
One of the errors is:
"kdm built with SHA1 certificate while video encoding is JP2K"
"import KDM faliure"

this one isnīt really a problem. I just asked the lab for a new one, and after they sent me 15 KDM built the same way, they finaly understod the problem and solved it.

Now the serios one.
KDM ingest fine. And even the DCP was green on the DOREMI cineLister, but when we tried to play it...

"KDM built with the wrong certificate."

Link for youtube video of this error.

This is can be a big problem if you have short time kdmīs.

How can I avoid the problem? Is this just a Lab issue we canīt avoid?

Have you guys been having issues like this with more independent movies?

Cheers
Fernando

Ow yes, that can be tricky....did many festivals and have many different KDM issues on all kind of servers, dolby, doremi, gdc...but newer had issue that server say is OK and finnaly i cannot play it. Could it be a problem that studio is not downloaded latest cert for you're server or server was not updated, expired certs? Anyhow everytime after ingest of kdm/movie i test it by playing to see if it will start.

Sounds like a lab problem to me. Unless your projection system is really stinky.

SHA1 KDMs/certificates are for MPEG2-Interop DCPs only. So either you sent them the wrong media block certificate, or they used the wrong one to create a KDM for a J2K DCP.
