DCP-o-matic 2.8 (2.8.1) is out.

http://dcpomatic.com/test-download

Many changes, some of them bug fixes, many improvements, some both ;-)

Cheers to Carl Hetherington for maintaining this fantastic software for free.

That said - please donate! ;-) http://dcpomatic.com/donate

I must say I am impressed. I've always used OpenDCP as (I thought) it would give me more control (I make my own clips exporting individual frames and WAV). Then I gave DCP-O-Matic a go, not only did it accept my assets but also compressed the whole lot in 3 minutes vs. 20 minutes taken by OpenDCP! Wow!

Thanks for the note, Carsten.

Generally speaking I'd suggest people use the version posted here:

http://dcpomatic.com/download

as the test version can sometimes be a little flakey.

All the best,
Carl

True, but as 2.8.1 now fixes a tiny bug and doesn't introduce many new experimental features yet, I thought I'd link to 2.8.1 just as well. That was similar to 2.7.1 I think.

But you're right, as the link to the test version will stick in this thread forever, it's better to look for the release version at first.

Piece of cake. As long as you get your 3D source footage right. DCP-o-matic supports all common 3D input formats.

DCP-o-matic 2.9 has been released:

http://dcpomatic.com/download

http://dcpomatic.com/release-notes.php?v=2.9.0

Finally, direct MP3, AAC, etc. support for those doing stills with music.
Lot's of other improvements and bug fixes.

There have been a lot of ergonomic enhancements added in recent versions that are not immediately visible, that is, not every program feature has a button somewhere.

Note Tooltips, right-click, etc. Check out the manual, and try things you would expect/hope to show a reaction (e.g. click on frame number/time code below preview window).
