In over 2 years running with the Cinedigm LMS with GDC servers, this is the first time I have experienced this problem. One of my GDC servers loaded and played last night's 9:35 show when playback for this afternoon's 1:00 show started. Unfortunately it's an issue because last night's 9:35 show was August: Osage County, and today's 1:00 show was supposed to be American Hustle.

I'm just curious is anyone else has ever experienced this issue.

I am unaware of this happening in any of our sites. I have had a GDC that will periodically refuse to take transfers until it is rebooted...but that is about it.

I had one instance where it refused to play any ads or trailers, and didn't start until the feature. I've had a few more where it doesn't start because it just doesn't have that one show scheduled. That's the extent of weird issues I've encountered though. And on all of those, I'm pretty sure the LMS was to blame, not the server.

Did the scheduler on the LMS just not match the server there or something?

John, as far as I can tell, there was no issue with the schedule on the GDC and LMS being different. The correct content and play list was present on the GDC server. Because the scheduled time drops off the GDC scheduler once it starts, I was not able to verify what was scheduled. As far as I can tell it was just a glitch.

Try pulling the logs and have GDC analyze them. It would be nice if when GDC pulled logs that they did so in a manner that one could view them oneself.

GDC is normally pretty good about analyzing problems though.

I completely agree. Is sending them to GDC the only way to get the information you need?

It all depends on ones access level. If you have the right level AND you know where things are stored...you can get to the individual logs.

But, if you want to pull wholesale logs...then yes...sending them off to GDC is the only way. But hey, if they want to play that way, make em work for it!
