Hi..Everybody,

Recently we some some problem with GDC sx3000 server. We extracted the log file but was unable to read it. After contacting gdc, they said u need special software and password to read the log file. They also refuse to give us software and password. Is there any other way to read gdc log files.

Nope...it is an encrypted tar ball.

IF you have root access, it is possible to download the individual files and read them, if you know where you are looking.

GDC is normally pretty good about reading the files for you and coming up with an answer though.

Have you sent it to them for analysis? Remember, these log files are not friendly things that just come out and say what is going on. You have to know where the various pieces of information are stored and then to know what you are looking for for them to have much meaning. That is true of anyone's server logs. There is a LOT of data there and one has to have a game plan to sift through it all.
