Anyone know the naming convention for Hobbit HFR 2D? I was told that I would be sent a HFR DCP, but there are about 12 versions none of which easily indicate if they are HFR or not.

BTW, to clarify the above, this particular movie is only available in HFR for 3D. DCI allows for HFR in 2D; they just chose not to release the movie in such a format.

Hey guys,

Do you know where can I find official information on available releases of "The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies"?
One of our distributors say that it was possible to get a 2D HFR version, which I doubt very much.
Does anyone here has got, or will get a 2D HFR version of this flick?

thanks,

I've not heard about a 2D HFR version. But, if you're in for some adventure, maybe you can trick your setup into running into a dual-projector setup with a missing slave [Wink] .

A local theatre (in Delaware) is advertising that you can watch the entire "Hobbit" trilogy at their location in HFR 3D on December 15th for $25 a ticket.

I haven't seen them yet this year, but last year there were even marathons which included the two Hobbit movies, followed by the three Lord of the Rings movies...

This year, they could finally offer the complete Middle Earth package.

That sounds like a very long time in a movie theater. I don't think these new Hobbit movies are any good anyway, not worth it IMO.

We are offering a Hobbit TripleFeature day on the saturday after the opening. We already have 100+ reservations. Even if these movies are not as good as LOTR, they still have a hardcore fan base which will sit through it. We are also offering food between the movies. We play in 2D.

We aren't playing the marathon but I am already getting calls from all over the place asking what day it opens and what time our 3D shows are.
