I have been running a 2nd run 35mm booth for 6 yrs now and our chain decides to conduct a "test" and install 4 digital projectors for 2nd run as well. Its different thats for sure.
Our equipment is hand me downs from other locations.

Well Im supposed to get the "Alternative Non-Cinema content" working. So I have a laptop connected to a DVI port and a channel way down the list with a PC icon shows the image on the laptop but there is no sound.
Am I supposed to go from the laptop to the input on an amp as well, or what? and please dont laugh. this is a DRASTIC change for me.

Yes, the DVI handles video only. Easiest way to get audio is to run a cable from the laptop to the non-sync or aux input on the processor if it has one.
