First the equipment:

Dolby DSS/DSP100 cinema processor
Christie 2000ZX Projector

I managed to run a straight through RS232 cable from the DSP100 to the RS232 B connector on the Christie. I also managed to get basic Shutter open and Shutter Close commands to work using the Christie Serial API.
[(SHU 0) and (SHU 1) commands]

I'm wondering if I can access the GPIO on the Christie from the Dolby using serial commands? It seems like you can access most of the internal workings of the machine but I can't find any GPIO stuff.

Try this:

(GIO?)

From what I can tell, the Christie D-cinema projectors use the same command set as most other Christie video projectors. See this manual for more examples, although I am willing to be that the scaling and image processing commands do not work on the D-cinema units.. Let us know if it works.

Note that the Christie douser has a delay of about one second after the command is sent to it before it opens or closes, so be sure to account for that in the programming. I find this highly irritating, especially for environments where one needs to be able to make seamless changeovers from film to video and back in one program.

Wow! Great manual. Thanks. Unfortunately I can't try any commands until next week.
I will post again once I have some results, but this looks like what I need.

Thanks again

No luck. Just returns an error message when I try (GIO?). I tried (HLP?) to get a list of commands and nothing related to GPIO came up.
At least the dowser, masking and lamp stuff works.
