Catching some wind that it will be a 15/70mm, DMR release.

If so, it'd be worth the visit to an IMAX location.

I'd check it out if King of Prussia had it in 15/70. If it's digital only - Not so much.

Monte, I severely doubt Paramount is going to spend $30k per print on a 30+ year old movie that's only going to play seven days.

It's made from the Blu-ray master. I'll just get the Blu-ray. Paying $17 to see it on an oddly shaped screen that was not designed for Hollywood-style movies would be a waste of time and money.

I'm with Joe -- it's inappropriate to see it that way.

well according to this link it sounds like it's both 15/70 and 'digital' but it's far from official.

the bluray master was from a 4K transfer - so actually the IMAX will look superior to the bluray

There will be 15/70 prints struck, no idea on the number of prints yet. However Spielberg wants it done in IMAX 15/70, I'm sure Paramount could care less if it was done in 15/70 but last time I checked the Man in the Hat has more pull then just about anyone in Hollywood and he usually gets what he wants.

I'm not a fan of this idea but I am a fan of Spielberg -- so if Nolan can get Batman in 15/70 I think Steven should get it too -- even if it is only for 7 days.

The 4K of Raiders didn't look so flash (to me anyway), so I'm curious to see exactly how it holds up in IMAX or even LieMAX.

If there are going to be 15/70 prints, the folks answering IMAX's website inquirys haven't been told.

Nevertheless, I'm excited to see it with a crowd on the big screen, and hope to take my 8 year old daughter.

Hi,
Can you tell me if Raiders of the Lost Ark will be presented in true 70MM IMAX or if it will be liemax only?

If there will be 70MM showings, can you please provide a list of theatres?

Thank you,
Geoff

Dear Geoff,

Thank you for contacting IMAX Corporation. Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark: The IMAX Experience is being released in digital format only, as this is a one-week release.

Best regards,
IMAX Corporation
