So out of the blue for no apparent reason we received an e-mail at one of the theaters encouraging us to download their framing chart -- which in turn must be downloaded via some proprietary download client plugin called Aspera-conncect for Firefox.

Anyone heard of these guys or know what this is about?

Dear Projectionist
And a 4k one if you have gone quad Rez, Ian.
4K_Framing_Charts Full from Motion Picture Solutions has been ordered for electronic delivery to your cinema.

Click here to download the trailer.
If your internet connection is approx 8mb the trailers will take approx 1hr to download.
If you have trouble downloading via Aspera then try the Firebind port checker to test your network connection.

Please visit https://keygen2.motionpicturesolutions.net/sitetools/index.php?s=Mxw1FM0. to see all trailers for your site.

Regards,
Ian Thomas

They're just like Deluxe Digital, Technicolor, etc in that they supply digital prints and KDMS, trailers etc to cinemas. They handle quite a lot of the distributors over here in the UK actually and are probably the best of the three main companies.

The Aspera programme is legit, it just lets you download their files really fast. They send a lot of trailers for download so it's good to be able download things as fast as possible.

I had the same email the other day.

I would edit your post to delete the link though as this is specific to your cinema and if they ever supply you with any KDMs (unlikely I guess, but still..) they would appear there. It's not password protected or anything

MPS do a lot of duplicating and distribution of DCPs in UK/Europe, plus support for premieres etc, pretty much worldwide (outside of the US). Things like big one off shows at venues like the Royal Albert Hall, the O2 arena and similar will often be with their rig of 3 three Christie CP2000XBs. They have a particularly strong relationship with Universal, Paramount, Dreamworks.

Ian Thomas is the proprietor; I'm sure he's a member on here (I must admit, I haven't looked him up). I've done one or two things with him, he's a thoroughly decent bloke.
