Hi Everyone.

I currently have a Zscreen set up but would like more light.

Is there any technical reason why RealD requests a 600x600mm port. I now project a 140mm tall image on the port glass on scope and the port glass is 350mm tall. Would it be technically possible to project the twin XL image through my existing port.

Kind Regards,

David

Hi I can send you the RealD port window analysis. Here you can calculate the window size. Send a Email adress if you want the sheet.

My rule of thumb...you need 3X height of your current FLAT image...so, if you have 140mm...you will need 420mm tall (minimum) for the XL (and remember the image is growing still once it gets past the glass so your opening in the demising wall needs to be that much bigger too.

The upper image will be larger AND it will be spaced off of the lower image at the point it hits the glass...hence the need for the 3X size.

And all of this presumes you have the ability to raise/lower your projector to get it to shoehorn through the opening. Real-D went with 600x600 (though it is really the height that grows substantially) to cover most cases.
