More marketing spin!

ODEON Digital 8000 HD – Leave reality at home
The cinema industry as we know it is changing, traditional film technology is being replaced by digital.
For you, the film fan, this means:

* you’ll see films as the director meant them to be seen, with every colour, detail and texture captured
with absolute digital accuracy

* a stunning combination of sharp picture quality and enhanced, high-definition surround sound

* you’ll be able to watch films long after their release date, with no deterioration in quality

The beauty of ODEON Digital 8000 HD comes not only from the immense leap in picture and audio quality, sharpness, depth and realism, but also in the capacity and range of films we can show.

ODEON Digital 8000 HD is powered by the bespoke ODEON 8000 Digital Projection System which provides more flexibility in film programming, ensuring we can provide you with a wider and more varied choice of the best films.
This bespoke projection system allows us to store and manage 8000 film files at any one time.

We will also be able to bring you a new range of non-film screenings from live theatre and opera to music and sporting events so you can enjoy your favourite entertainment larger than life on the big screen.

We are proud to be at the forefront of this change and are introducing digital technology into all of our cinemas.

If you belive that [Roll Eyes] , this is the same people that were going all Digital 3 years ago!.

Not really Odeon these days, more like UCI, I know loads of former Odeon Projectionist's waiting/wanting to leave.
and seeing their latest Digital Cinemas with Fixed Scope Masking Screens [thumbsdown] and NEC 2K Projectors, varied Seat Priceing, I would think people should watch Movies at home!.

I wonder how they will change their "Fanatical About Film" slogan?

That would depend on whether the equipment can be upgraded to become an "Odeon Digital 8000HD" system (possibly through the usage of a sticker).

Alternatively they may move the current equipment to allow them to fully digitise their less profitable sites, installing the new equipment in their flagship sites.

They have (both film and digital) IMAX systems installed in a few of their cinemas, they will have to be careful with marketing so that they can still charge a premium for these screens.

This is the area they should promote as Imax is a known brand (even if it is not real 15/70 Imax), "Movies on Demand", "Live Broadcast" can that really draw the crowds by calling "Odeon8000HD" a Experience?.
