Now that the move via DLP to 4K seems closer, don't you think that Sony will boast an 8K projector or 6K in the next few months?

Thats almost a certainty.

Why, I have no idea. It seems ludicrous to push higher and higher resolutions all the while making current models obsolete faster.

Just another reason for the exhibs to hold off converting and sticking to 35mm.

Would it not be in a bigger interest for Sony to get a solution for bigger screens? To get a 6500W xenon bulb in their projector (and so to be able to project on bigger screens 25/30m)?

And when Sony comes up with the 6k/8k machines they'll stop supporting the 4k machines the same day. [fu] SDDS anyone?
