We're getting some pretty ugly scaling artifacts with a CP2000ZX which has an anamorphic lens attachment. It looks like it's using nearest-neighbor interpolation to stretch the vertical resolution from 858 to 1080 to fill the chip which results in roughly every fourth row of pixels to be doubled. Is this "normal" with the CP2000 when using an anamorphic lens?

Ahh, Geez.... I drove through Wichita a couple of weeks ago John. But no you shouldn't normally get scaling artifacts. You left out a few detials though... what source input... DVI or cinema server? Seems to me that the projector software just has a box you check if you're running an anamorphic and it does the proper scaling for HDSDI inputs. BARCO does it this way. I've only used one anamorphic and it was on a BARCO and since installing 3-D at this location and a new lens that anamorphic has since become a door stop.

One uses the "lens factor" to have the projector perform the vertical scaling. Normally, lens factor is 1.00...for an Anamorphic lens on a 2K system...set it to 1.25.

Letterbox should still be checked. Make sure your "source" settings are also correct.

Checked this evening and everything is set correctly. It's most noticeable with animated content and credits. I'm guessing it's "normal" and the projector just does crummy scaling.
