The Polynesian Cultural Center is switching to Digital and selling there Imax Projection system. http://www.giantscreencinema.com/Default.aspx?ItemID=6&TabID=171&uc=info&mode=dir
I run a Dome Imax how long before we go digital? I also thought that all Imax systems were leased not owned by the theater or science center.

They better sell their prints along with it otherwise the thing is not going to be able to do very much for whoever is thinking of purchasing it.

I thought those were all leased from Imax. They can be sold?

There were a few systems that were sold outright by Imax... Dick Vaughn would know. But since film is obsolete and 4K DLP is now the king why would anyone bother with it. Would make a great display piece though...

If they're selling it, you can safely assume they bought it outright. I installed it, nice gig. It's about 40' up in the air though: there is a door to get it through but that's a long first step down.
