Giantscreenbiz.com is reporting "Crown to Remove its 15/70 Systems ... Advanced Imaging Systems seeks rescuer". Since I'm too cheap to shell out the $300 for a subscription, has anyone here heard anything about this?

This is also mentioned on page 4 of September 2002 issue of LF Examiner, Vol. 5, No. 9.

Advanced Image Systems laid off its last employees and closed its doors in early August. Other sources say that the Crown Theatres Mavericks will be replaced by Kinoton 8/70/35 projectors.

Yes, it's true. We were.... just having tons of fun with it. Too much fun. Reminds me of the saying; "May you live in interesting times.." After all that fun, we decided we wanted something dull and boring, so we we got two of the Kinton 8/70 projectors with uninteresting regular intermittents. Apparently, 8/70 almost always uses DTS for sound; no more exciting editing operations! I guess we will be sitting around like the Maytag repairman. I will really notice it when they're gone. Especially my ears. I will try to take 'before' and 'after' pictures. Hasta la vista, ba-by.

I'm trying to get to Showeast; Will there be a "Film-Tech" watering hole set up? For the price of a 7&7, (yeah a kid's drink I know) I will tell you how much fun we had.

Giantscreenbiz.com is a little slow on this one. People asked me about this over two months ago. Why $300?
