HAWAII starting Max von Sydow and Julie Andrews will be released by Twilight Time next week and limited to their usual 3000 copies.I have the road show version on laserdisc and the regular theatrical version on DVD and was hoping one day, the longer version will be released on blu ray but once again, only the regular version will be in HD on the disc. However, the longer road show version will be included but only in standard definition as a bonus feature. I thought PQ of the road show version of HAWAII looked pretty good on laserdisc so I am sure it will look very good, up converted to HD from the SD version on the new HAWAII blu ray The laserdisc was stereo but the DVD was not, I am not sure if the new BD will be in stereo or not.

That's surprising, you'd think they'd want to put the more deluxe Roadshow version in HD.

Mike, they would have but the original road show elements are in terrible condition and need to be restored and it is something MGM who owen the rights refuse to do like THE ALAMO another film the own. It seem the cut version of HAWAII is in good condition and can be released on BLu ray.
