What a great movie! I guess enough time has passed that you can consider Lethal Weapon a classic. Such a great action/buddy cop movie. I know it didn't invent the genre, but it is one of the best. The great thing about this movie is how well written the story is. It really worked.

Mel Gibson is outstanding and looking back at his Martin Riggs role, I think he deserved an Oscar nom for it. He played his loose cannon character perfect. I think it would of been amazing to see this movie in a theatre with hundreds of people, the scene where Riggs jumps off the building would be amazing with so many others in the theatre. Danny Glover is also outstanding and the chemistry between the two is outstanding. The friendship grows and then they bond at the end. I liked how Donner ties up Riggs issues at the end at the cemetary.

I watched Lethal Weapon on laserdisc and I was blown away at how good the picture was, it looked like "film" on my 42 LCD. One of the better laserdiscs thats for sure. I can't say much about the sound, I was a little disappointed with the sound even though it was nominated for Best Sound.
