In the spirit of the season, I thought it would be interesting to find out what movies/shows people have been waiting, and waiting, and waiting for, but which still have yet to be released, or will never be. So here is my brief wishlist, I'm sure there are more:

The Adventures of Brisco County Jr. A FOX show that ran for a few years and was slotted before X-Files. Bruce Campbell's western/sci-fi masterpiece.

The Last Unicorn: An animated movie that I remember from my childhood. Turns out that it is my girlfriends favorite movie, oddly enough.

Paramount has picked-up the rights to "The High and the Mighty" from the Wayne estate. And plans are to restore the picture. Which was the problem between the Wayne estate and Warner Bros. over cost to restore the feature.

Bladerunner on DVD, with something more than a puny 2.0 mix. The original had 70mm mag prints. It would be nice to have both "The Director's Cut" sans happy ending and narration and the regular theatrical cut with narration (which I think works better). Someone poke Ridley Scott with a cattle prod to get him action on this one, please.

Regarding "Orgazmo," I could have sworn I saw something on The Digital Bits Rumor Mill column about that movie getting a new DVD release sometime early in 2005.

Word is that Kevin Brownlow somehow got through all the rights issues with all the clips, & is getting this ready for DVD even now. Laserdisc versions, which had been going for $400 on eBay, are popping up again on eBay, as folks unload them before the DVD's arrival.

Space Ghost is on DVD...

MY wish list:

"Howard the Duck" - Give us the damn letterbox version already! Even the laserdisc is P&S!! And take the mix off the 70mm version so we get a real mix.

"Titanic" - Ditto with Brad. Something more than just the movie and ONE trailer on the disc.

"Batman" - I KNOW they can make a better transfer of this. One of the worst DVDs I have seen. Dark at the corners, MAJOR jump/weave... Hell, I've seen bootlegs from the audience better than this!!

"Orgazmo" - I didn't know this wasn't out in WS on DVD. I only have the pan/scan VHS release and a widescreen workprint copy on VHS. (In my opinion, the workprint cut was MUCH better, before they kept trying to get the R rating)

And most important...

"The Beatles / Let It Be" - I want to see this in good quality with good sound which is why I haven't dropped $40 on a bootleg off of a VHS from ebay. How can they get away with just selling them like that on there??
