I ordered this movie on vhs tape (SECAM format) from France and it recently arrived.

Unfortunately not owning SECAM compatible equipment I had to watch the film in Black and White but that was a minor problem.

The film stars Thierry L'hermitte and Marie-Anne Chazel who absolutely shines in this film (as she does in all her films). It is a typical french farce built around how a middle class couple get tangled up with a former female rock star and her friends. The clash of cultures makes for humerous fodder and a droll kangaroo steals the show. There is quite a bit of Australian humor in the film as well.

At the same time the film has a real heart as the conclusion shows and would appeal to western family values.

4 1/2 stars (out of 5)

cheers Peter
