If any British reader is thinking of buying this - currently in a sale at Virgins for £6.99 - don't! The transfer is one of the worst I've seen in a commercially produced DVD. The bitrate hardly ever goes above 4 (they've crammed the whole 118-minute film, plus umpteen foreign language tracks and a few extras, onto one single-layer disc), the artefacting looks terrible, contrast and gamma are so bad that you can't even see the pinstripes in Humphrey Bogart's suit in most of the shots, and the print it was transferred from is pretty dirty, too. I'm surprised Warners allowed it to be released in that state.
