I stumbled across this Spanish film just as it was starting on SBS late last night. I sat glued till the end. It appeared on screen letterboxed in what appeared to be a flat presentation.

This film is a stylishly done comedy about how a corrupt funeral parlour employee is selected by a sinister group of bankers as an unlikely presidential candidate.

For those who don't like gore don't watch this film but it is done for laughs. This film is kind of a cross between Pulp Fiction and Dave but the plot is less predictable than either of these films.

I might add that for anyone who is considering taking their dead loved one to a funeral parlour this film is a must see. You'll have to watch the film to see why.

The film was well directed, and the comedy timing very good. It comes across as a very funny but somewhat macarbre look at gangsterdom in Spain.

Verdict 85%: Well worth seeing. To be enjoyed on the big screen.

cheers Peter
