Harkins Theatres is looking for a Project Manager, Audio/Visual to join our Information Technology team. The Project Manager will develop and manage technical projects through all phases of the life cycle, including relationship building, requirements gathering, planning, management, testing and implementation.  Leads initiatives to research, implement, and provide support for theatre automation, visual elements, lighting effects and takeovers.  Works with executive management, operations, information technology, construction and vendors on theatre lighting effects and audio visual (AV) concepts.  Works to continuously improve project and program management framework, processes, tools and standards necessary to deliver high quality projects on time.

Responsibilities

-Owner of overall architectural vision and strategy for theatre AV and lighting effects technologies.
-Defines and provides leadership and expertise in the development of standards, architectural governance, design patterns, and practices job requirements as it pertains to theatre audio visual and lighting effects elements.
-Provides high-level estimates (time, budget, effort) for AV and lighting concepts.
-Supervises the daily responsibilities for the assigned project teams working on AV and lighting initiatives including regular meetings, directing efforts, conflict resolution, clearing roadblocks, and providing leadership to keep teams motivated and maintain project momentum.
-Prepares and presents proposals with key stake holders to executive management.
-Effectively communicates in writing and verbally all theatre AV and lighting effects concepts and proposals to executive management.
-Provides technical guidance and coaching to operations, construction and information technology support specialists on theatre technology to ensure a high-degree of support and quality.
-Partners with various business stakeholders and technology leaders to translate requirements into technical solutions.
-Primary consultant for construction for setting AV and lighting effects standards for theatre new builds and remodels.
-Ensures theatre AV systems meet all requirements of quality, scalability, extensibility, etc.
-Maintains an organization-wide view of current and future theatre architecture and technology to provide scalable and high-performance solutions.
-Partners with creative services to develop and deploy AV content to theatres.
-Solves unique and complex technical problems that have a broad impact on the theatre AV and lighting technologies.  Is the point of contact for AV, lighting, and takeover issue management.
-Develops the delivery plan; ensures the development team delivers on the committed plan.
-Shares budgetary responsibilities with other internal departments.
-Flexible to work variable schedules.
-Must carry a company cell phone, and be available evenings and weekends for emergencies.
-Must have current auto insurance and valid drivers license at all times.
-Frequent travel to/among designated company locations.

Additional Duties

-Performs industry, technology, and product research, and adapts to the trends and industry best practices relevant to the Harkins environment.
-Keeps abreast of changes affecting both the supply of and demand for needed products and materials.
-Assists with managing the development of both IT and non-IT related systems and projects, as needed.
-Assists with the design and development of database and software systems.
-Maintains and updates the procedure's manual for this position.

Requirements: 

-College diploma or university degree in an engineering related field or a high school diploma/GED and 5+ years equivalent work experience.  Bachelor’s degree preferred.
-5+ years’ experience designing and developing AV and lighting solutions.
-Certified Technical Specialist (CTS) and/or Project Management (PMP) certification preferred.
-Knowledge of commonly used project management concepts, practices and procedures.
-Able to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule formats and define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
-Skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities.
-Demonstrates good problem-solving abilities and awareness of surrounding issues.
-Able to perform and train lock out-tag out procedures.
