Head Projectionist and Screening Room Manager

My colleagues over at the IU Libraries Moving Image Archive have gone and built themselves their own screening room!

PARTIAL QUOTE FROM THE LISTING:

JOB DESCRIPTION: Oversees the technical aspects and event management of the Indiana University Libraries new screening room, which is part of the Libraries’ Moving Image Archive; and projects for screening events. Hires, trains, and manages assistant projectionists; maintains booth equipment; and assists Moving Image Archive staff with faculty, campus, and internal library requests for screenings and use of the space. Works with Libraries Advancement for events in the space; and works with researchers to screen films in the individual screening rooms. Oversees the legacy video rack; and arranges the delivery of media playing in the screening room.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree in film, media studies or a relevant discipline and two years of experience in the following: working with 16mm film presentation and other various digital video format; projection and playback equipment; and operation, maintenance and troubleshooting of 2K projector, 16mm projectors, and legacy formats (including U-matic, VHS, and Laser disk).
