Reporting to the Theater Director, the Projection Manager will be responsible for the management and operation of the Theater’s state-of-the-art IMAX ® Motion Picture 3D GT Projection System and Sonics Sound System. This will include the operation, care and maintenance of the IMAX projection equipment and non-IMAX audio/visual equipment for all screenings and facility rentals in the Theater. The Projection Manager will be responsible for day-to-day management of projection staff, including hiring, training, scheduling and evaluation; maintaining the high quality of film presentations; assembling film prints; shipping, receiving and storage of film prints and soundtracks; developing and implementing timing and cueing of shows with hosting staff; assisting IMAX service personnel with preventative maintenance; maintaining the inventory of spare parts; and other projects, as required.

As a member of the Theater Management team, the Projection Manager will support the business objectives of the theater and participate in the planning, budgeting and administrative functions that relate to technical operations of the theater.

The ideal candidate should have a technical trade school diploma in electronics or equivalent with a minimum of 3 years IMAX projection working experience. Candidates should be conversant with electronic concepts, testing and repair procedures, tools and equipment. Requirements also include proficiency in computer software (MS Office, Internet) and hardware connectivity with strong written and verbal communication skills. Preference will be given to candidates with strong managerial ability demonstrated by previous supervisory experience. Experience in purchasing, shipping and inventory management is an asset.
