The George Eastman House in Rochester, NY has an opening for a
Theatre Manager position.

Job Description:
The Dryden Theatre Manager coordinates and implements film exhibition
activities in the Museum on a daily basis. The Manager is responsible
for the nightly operation of the Theatres, with specific duties
including: Scheduling and coordinating training for nightly box
office and projectionist staff; Coordinating and scheduling staff for Dryden special events and preparing necessary equipment needs: Sheduling film introductions and coordinating speakers for each screening, as well as providing introductions her/himself; Booking/scheduling films with theatrical and non-theatrical distribution companies and filing invoices for rentals/repairs/supplies; Maintaining an online archive of
programs and information pertaining to the film exhibition program;
Maintaining lobby displays, including posters, fliers, still displays, etc.; Updating and recording film information telephone message; Working with custodial staff in maintaining cleanliness of Theatre lobby and auditorium; Supervise shipping and receiving for motion picture print traffic; Supervise inspection of film prints and provide some inspection; Assisting and training students and interns;
Receiving/answering phone inquiries; Additional tasks may be assigned
as required.

Qualifications:
Candidates should possess a thorough knowledge of film history (US
and International), proficiency in organization and scheduling,
outstanding public speaking skills, and the ability to handle multiple tasks while facing time constraints, including emergency situations related to the implementation of the film program. Familiarity with film archive policies and procedures is recommended. Any previous retail, office or theater management experience would also be an asset.
