We are going to try out doing some sensory friendly films, but I can't find any good reference for decibel settings. Does anyone have any experience with this and have any advice to offer?

Hey, we do these once a month at my theater with whatever children's film is out at the time.

Generally we leave lights at mid and have volume at 3/4 the normal level.

Hope that helps.

I don't have a specific decibel setting, but I would set it for a level where it would be hard to hear with two people having a normal conversation.

I have a good friend who is autistic. One day I was watching trailers with him on my phone. I turned up the volume to almost full so I could hear it well. To him it was so loud that he couldn't turn it down fast enough. We would up watching about about half value.

A couple other things we do with our sensory shows is to run the open caption version and don't program any trailers or ads.
