I was told this is the prototype SR noise reduction module. Can anyone here confirm this or not?

Looks like my first project back in 1979. LOL.

Don't think it's SR. Does not have enough parts. Again somewhat in jest.

Looks more like the control module for my car's Flux Capacitor.

I know they used to have some of the prototype modules on display in the
little 'museum' adjecent to the lobby at Dolby's San Francisco headquarters.

I do several shows a week at Dolby's screening room, but I haven't stuck
my head into the museum in quite awhile. I've got two screenings to do
there later this week, so maybe I'll takalook. -jc-

Thanks Jim!

I have a feeling that it is and may be on display there. I got this image off another electronics site on Facebook.

UPDATE:

Mark, I KNOW I've seen that prototype board before, most likely on display at
the little Dolby "museum" at thir San Francisco headquarters.

However, even though I do screenings at Dolby several times a week, it's been
at least 8months or more since I've looked into the museum, and when I went
in there after my screening last night, all the displays have changed, and all of
the Dolby 'breadboard' prototype circuit broads and early audio products were
gone, and replaced mostly by displays that touted their latest technologies,
such as ATMOS & mobile device apps.

But, as I recall, the circuit board pictured in your post used to
be on display in THIS CASE, which I photographed last night:
 -
Unfortunately, I waited till after the screening was over to look into
the museum, so anyone I could have asked about your photo was gone.

However, I do see that the same photo you had in your post is also used on
the Wikipedia page about Dolby SR and is identified as the prototype circuit.

So, it may or may not be, since Wikipedia sometimes has accuracy issues.

In the picture warehouse, check out the Dolby Labs page, 3rd photo in. It's there.

Thanks everyone for looking around! It's interesting that they have what appears to be a DSS-200 as a museum piece.

Looks like a Doremi next to it and it looks like a DSS-100 on top.

Here's a closer picture of that display case:
 -

On top is a DP563 Pro Logic II Encoder

In the middle is an SCC-2000 Secure Content Creator

Bottom Left: The ol' reliable DSS-200

Bottom Right: DP600 Digital Program Optimizer

According to the sales department:
"The Dolby DP600 Program Optimizer provides loudness correction,
audio conversion, and upmmixing for use in cable, terrestrial & IPTV, radio,
and postproduction facilities. It includes the worlds first intellegent audio
analyses and automated loudness normalization engine, along with the
ability to encode, decode, convert or transcode between Dolby Digital
Plus, Dolby Digital, Dolby E, PCM, MPEG1, MPEG2, RSVP, AAC, HE-AACv2,
and other broadcast media files & audio formats."

(OK, so there is no 'RSVP" audio format.
- - - I just wanted to see if y'all were still paying attention)

Also, the pictures of the Dolby Screening Room & booth currently in the
FT WAREHOUSE are almost 10yrs old. I should take some new ones since
there's a few things ( ! ) that have changed since then.

For example, the ol' BARCO digitalcinemaprojectorthingy in those
pix was replaced several years ago by this 4K CHRISTIE CP-4230:
 -

There's a wholbuncha other changes too, but the Kinton 35/70 & 16mm
projectors are still there, and still in use, although not as much any more.

One of these days, maybe I can add some nu pix to update the warehouse.
