Does anyone know how to contact John Eickhof? He offered to help me with parts for a restoration. His phone number seems to be unlisted and he has not returned e-mails or private messages sent thru F.T.

Gee, Mark

You offered me up that E-7. Tried contacting you all over the place to complete the transaction...either thru posts or P.M. and you never answered back. I assume you scrapped it by now? 'Tis a shame, as I really wanted it. Especially since you said that it never saw operation.

speaking of E7s, I am currently installing a pair with double shutters, Peerless Magnarcs, SH-1000s on LL3 bases in the booth of my #1 auditorium at the ACE Theatre to become a hands on interactive operating booth in conjunction with the museum I am placing in that auditorium. I am torn on whether to use 4 tube rectifiers or a nice Hertner Transverter I have in my collection. I prefer motor-gennies but will need to recruit some help to get the beast upstairs. (500-600 lbs) I always liked the Tungar rectifiers as they made great food warmers in the cold Tahoe Winters! Will, sorry I have been out of touch, I'm experiencing some health issues. What E7 stuff were you looking for? I have lots of early E7s under #25 serial number down to #3 (all gloss black) Plus a few nice wrinkle finish ones.I will be using a real nice pair of vertical shafts with wrinkle paint models in my booth and my earliest serial will be in the museum. The E7 is still my favorite Simplex head and I've run lots of film through them. I also have a studio E7 for dual film that will be in the museum. Anyway, many apologies, please let me know again what you were looking for. I have the machines assembled and should be getting some pictures soon.

Hi John

Hope you are feeling better.

Please send me a p.m. with your phone number. I'm still interested in those 4-tube rectifiers you offered me to power my Magnarcs. Also interested in discussing E-7 stuff with you.

Cheers

Will

If an E7 is laced up right with the correct loop sizes in the head and everything is all aligned, it can run tons quieter than any XL or Century out there - prob can even beat a Kinoton.
