Any method that won't leave residue is okay. Use a clean, soft cloth that won't leave lint. (Dale Gribbles' made-up name on King of the Hill). What Randy said with one caution: DO NOT ever use "Rubbing Alcohol" (as sold in drugstores) because it usually has lanolin or other product to leave skin moisturized which WILL stay on the bulb and cause it to explode when it gets hot! Don't ask me how I found this out....... It is often used for sterilizing before injections. There should only be two ingredients: Alcohol (91%) and water.
