Like the title say, could I use an intermittent from a Simplex XL in a 1060?

No problem - unit goes into PR-1014 (Same as an XL), 1050, 1060 and the ugly Apogee.

90% right. Some XL intermittents were made using the high speed frame. These will hit the (removable) rear of the case. If you have one of these, expect to do alittle bit of grinding. Louis
