What pickups have you been using on your Century JJ's outside of the original incandescent bulb, etc? Most of what I have seen (Component Engineering, Kelmar...) have big light barrels, are otherwise bulky, and would totally block any 70mm bypass route.

I know that some models (not mine) routed the 70 outside the head, but that seemed to run the mag track right by the motor and it's magnetic field. (uck...)

You could try some thing like that was done on a Westrex 5000 Projector as the opitcal Soundhead was simular to a Century.

Kelmar makes a red reader that permits the 70mm bypass through the analog soundhead.
