The bottom omega spring on our Dolby Cat 701 sound head snapped. I have the replacement part, but I don't know how to go about replacing it. I've never taken apart the sound head before and I can't seem to find a guide or manual to help me.

Any tips/advice for me?

1-Remove the guidance roller off the shaft that is partically blocking the pivot shaft of that pad roller where the omega spring is broken. 1/16" allen is to be used to remove the roller

2-You loosen up the lower pad roll allen screw and pull it out were you can get the spring out and to replace.

Re-assemble in reverse.

Good luck-Monte

Monte left one important thing out... Don't loose the wavy washer at the end of the pad roller arm casting! Put a little grease on it to hold it to the main frame when re-assembling.it in the verticle position... or do it horizontally on a bench without any grease.
