Some one told me that Sundance no longer will run 35mm, does anyone know if that is correct?

I don't think it's up to Sundance so much as the individual locations Sundance rents out for their festival.

It's still up to Sundance. It's pretty common for festivals to rent out locations and bring in their own equipment to hook up.

Isn't Sundance primarily for independent film makers (not the Hollywood big boys who are pushing digital)?

..all kinds - from 16mm to digital... I know two SLC suppliers who sends their techs up to Park City, that gets their hands full up to their ears and then some, in helping with all of these setups...

Speaking as a contemporary independent filmmaker, digital is far more attractive than film, primarily for economic reasons.
