I'm curious, can the DTS CSS player be converted to playback standard DTS Audio like the XD10?

Unless there is something I am seriously missing, it cannot. It is strictly a subtitle system.

Anything is possible but why? The CSS standalone unit that looks like an XD10 is very similar, Unlike the XD10 it only has one drive and is of course missing the audio cards, the back plane is a little different also, it seems the trouble and cost to locate cards, software, and the miscellaneous things would make this a waste of time. Although to answer you question…..sure it would be possible but not recommended.
