For those who knew him or appreciated the advances he helped to push in the industry, Tim Burke was killed in a car accident yesterday. His father was in the hospital so he was making a daily trip to see and support him.

The service will probably be in West Virginia and Cincinnati. I will post more info as I have it.

Thank you Tim for the support and desire to make things better for the exhibition industry.

Tim was an awesome force for the customer, and he was always responsive whenever I communicated with him, and he will definitely be missed [Frown] .

Rest in peace, Tim!

Technicolor and the Entertainment community have experienced an enormous loss with the passing of Timothy Burke. Tim, the Vice President of Cinema Distribution, was fatally injured in an accident on Monday, August 16, 2010 around 8:30 am on his way to visit his Dad, who was in the hospital in Pittsburgh, PA.

Tim was hired as General Manager in the Wilmington, OH location on July 13, 1998. Tim has been instrumental in implementing significant improvements to the business that are still recognized throughout the industry. Tim will be remembered as leader, mentor, partner, and friend to all who knew him. Associates who worked closely with Tim say they are a better person because of the influence Tim had on them.

When Tim wasn’t giving his all to work, he was donating his time, talent, and money to one of many charities in the community. As a member of the Crossroads Community Church in Cincinnati, he worked on numerous events. In addition, he was actively involved in serving at Your Father’s Kitchen, participating in fund raising events for the Clinton County Homeless shelter, and many other outstanding charities.

Tim was a great example; promoting excellence and personal accountability, while helping people achieve goals in and out of the workplace. Tim’s Technicolor family will mourn his loss along with his family and friends.

Arrangements are being handled by Altmeyer Funeral Home, Wheeling Chapel, 304-232-0330. Their website, http://www.altmeyer.com, should be updated shortly with the following arrangements.

There will be a funeral mass for Tim on Saturday, August 21st at 10:00am at the Saint Michaels Church, 1225 National Road, Wheeling, WV 26003, 304-242-1560.

On Sunday, August 22nd at 2:00pm there will be a memorial service at the Crossroads Church Chapel in Oakley, 3500 Madison Road, Cincinnati, OH 45209. They are also planning a reception afterwards, but those arrangements are still pending at this time.
