Author Topic: 35 mm Simplex Projector weight? Nate Anderson Film Handler Posts: 20 From: Stillwater, Maine, USA Registered: Sep 2004 posted 04-19-2010 03:40 PM                        Does anyone have a general idea how much a Simplex 35 mm projector and soundhead would weigh? I'm trying to figure out shipping costs and I can't even attempt it without a weight estimate. I'd weigh the thing myself but I can't think of a good way to do that either. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.  |  IP: Logged Tony Bandiera Jr Film God Posts: 3067 From: Moreland Idaho Registered: Apr 2004 posted 04-19-2010 03:51 PM                     Nate, Approximate weight for the pair less crate and pallet would be around 100 lbs, if you're talking about a 5-Star (belt drive) soundhead. Pallet and proper packing material can add 20-30 lbs. Add 35 lbs to the above if it's an older SH-1000 gearbox soundhead. You can use an ordinary bathroom scale which can be had for as little as $10-20 bucks at a drugstore.
