I have one simple question: Is it possible to combine a DFP-2000 processor with a DFP-R3000 reader?

Simple answer: NO

The video processing is in the wrong place between the two.

Yea, on R2000 there is only video amp + led powering, so all video decodiny + rest are in D2000, but on R3000 video subsystem, led power, terminal RS232 and diagnostic are in reader!
