Where do you guys here buy your Xenon Lamps? Apart from Edge that is...there was a guy in Perth a few years back, but can't recall his name.

What brand of lamp do you go for?

We use John from Australian Theatre Supplies Pty Ltd (previously Auswide) in S.E Queensland. They source a good range of lamps and other projection related goodies as well as tech work.

As I'm not sure about linking to their website on the forum, if you email me I can give you their contact details. They're a good bunch.

Cheers
Ian

The EDGE office in Perth is still around and they are still doing installs and services. We're using Osram lamps and getting around 8000+hrs out of them.

The last time I saw an Osram with that many hours on it, the bulb was so dark the picture looked horrible. Surprisingly though, it lit on the first strike and was stable.

We changed out one(2.2K) a couple of weeks ago, and while it was getting pretty dark the picture was still quite good. Much better than you'd experience at a typical multiplex over here...

I purchase lamps from Osram direct. (cuts out the Middle man who ads his cost on)Also Cinetech Australia also sell AGL lamps with excellent warranty service.I havent yet tried AGL as Cinetech have just started to sell them and as yet they dont have a Osram 2000W SHSC type available, not until later this year.

I Use Osram, tried Ushio but was'nt getting the life out of them so gone back to Osram. It's cheaper to buy direct from Osram as it cuts out the middle man.Ushio are only available from Edge in Australia.
Cinetech have just become dealers here for AGL lamps.Told by Nick that they have a excellant warranty and price is competitive.Havent had the chance to try them as yet, only problem is that they don't have version of the Osram 2000WSHSC lamp but should have later on or early next year.AGL also supply lamps for Digital projectors.AGL Being new to Australia time will tell to see how the hours stack up.

I doubt China-made Xenon lamps.
Ushio Xenon lamps are manufactured in Philippines and Japan.
For Osram, I don' know.
