What is the proper soundtrack orientation on a platter or on the reel - soundtrack in or soundtrack out?

We were showing 70 this week at our theater and I'm a little rusty.

Mag tracks are on the base side, so if you typically use the standard S-wind configuration (feed reel spins counterclockwise, takeup spins clockwise), the mag tracks should be on the inside of the feed reel and outside of the takeup.

Most platter houses run emulsion out, which would mean mag tracks in.

(Cue long debate on emulsion-in vs. emulsion-out winding.)
