Did a quick search and could not find the exact problem, but the top deck of a Speco 280 platter continues to spin at a rather quick speed even when the control arm is all the way to the right.

I have checked other decks with this particular brain and the problem does not travel. I swapped out the small round card under the deck in question with a new card but problem still remains.

Is it possible the metal disk that engages the round card not making contact? If so, it there a way to tighten it so when the brain is placed in the deck it does not begin to spin regardless of the positioning of the control arm?

Unless the centerfeed design has changed since I last used one, there is a round magnet with a white mark on it at its pivot point. When the arm is at it's resting position, the white mark on that round magnet must be pointing to the other reference round magnet's white mark.
