What is the black module(adapter?) that connects directly into the CP65 then the ribbon cable plugs in to? Can this module be purchased from an electronics store or is it proprietary?

Jeremy, it is propreitary to Dolby, it was used as a buffer for the automation pulses to help the reversions from digital to analog and back.

I have extras, if you need one send me a PM and we'll work out the details.

The Cat 410 sped up the reversion process for the CP65/55 by lowering the debounce time on the Cat 443 when the DA20 was sending pulses. Since the DA20 did not need a debounce, the transition time could be shortened considerably.

However, with normal mechanical switches/relays, debouncing is necessary for the logic in the CP65 (or most any other logic switch).
