Hi

Today I was servicing a cat 700 dolby reader that was dead. Found that the component that is in series with the lamp, that I think is an NTC resistor, was blown.
The component went in pieces while removing it, so I can't read the values on it.

Can you help me identifing the component? Is it an NTC? Can you point me to a suitable replacement? The lamp is 42W, 10.8V.

Thanks!

Marco

Its best to replace it but you could use a common off the shelf adjustable switching power supply with the same ratings.

This part is a thermistor, Dolby part number 13047.

Thanks for the assistance.

I'll try to replace it with a thermistor that should be correct. As last chance I'll replace the PS as Mark pointed out.

Thanks!

Hi

Replaced the NTC with this one from RS: 516-7833

The lamp starts almost immediately but slowly.

Thanks!
