I gather this is to be released in real-d digital.
Will there be regular 35mm prints as well or just the digital?

Yes, there will be 35mm prints. The way the trailer is it doesn't mention anything about 3-D until the end when it states in realD 3-D in select theatres.

The trailer makes the film look terrible..... regardless of how good the 3d is its still just a gimmick and will never catch on for mainstream dramatic films. I have a feeling this film will bomb.

The first trailer for it on Nim's Island had 3-D prominently shown with the title but it seems they have made it only an option since then.

Saw the film in 3D at ShoWest. It's not very good. [Frown]

The 3D poster (lenticular) we have actually has no mention of the film being in 3D!

Received this yesterday...

'As you may know, Journey to the Centre of the Earth is now only available in 3D in digital and as a result the "3D" has been dropped from the title.'

So it's in 3D so they are dropping the 3D from the title? that makles sense - in backward land. [Wink]

3D in Digital only from the way I read it...2D in 35mm.

Either way it'll be crap.

O.k i've just re-read your post and I understand now. I thought you were saying that there wasn't going to be a 2D version...at all.

I know...it was read that way by our booker as well. Distributors are not known for their email sentence structure.
