I'm hoping someone could steer me in the right direction.I have a 16mm print of the film "The Day the Earth Stood Still".It's a TV station type print, good condition,a few splices, not vinegar.I bought it back in 1981 for 250 bucks.
If I were to sell it today, which I don't want to do,but if I were, what would be a fair asking price?

If you have a decent copy of that 1951 FOX movie, I'd shove it on eBone and see what you can tag out of it. I would start what you bought it for and I get it would easily climb past that beginning bid to almost double.

For eBone is also a good site for collectable 16mm for sale and to let.

Strangely enough, good original prints of that have been popping up for sale often of late. Typical selling price is $250-$350. A really mint one could fetch more, I suppose. I sold mine a few years back for $200, but it appeared to be a reduction (albeit a very strong one).
