Can somebody Confirm that if I take the pre-amp outputs on the CP-65, and feed them, via whatever else I choose to put between, into the mag/aux inputs, and then select mag/aux the noise reduction will not be used, i.e. the outputs are taken directly after the pre-amps, and before the NR?

With this configuration, will the Academy filter be applied or not? Whatever the answer to that last question, is it possible to change this if I want to?

Can I do the same thing on the CP-50? I can't remember what outputs and inputs are available on that model.

On the CP-50 the preamp outs are before NR. (Old age keeps me from commenting on the CP-55/65.)

I did once modify a CP-55 to allow NR and then add compression for a dinner theatre application. Theatre had left and right only ceiling mounted in a long low room. I removed the cat 150 and used a dummy card to jump to unused pins out to the compressor and then back in. Noise reduction, greatg sound, and only l/r outs. Had it been necessary, I had planned to add delay for echo reduction. Louis
