My Christie Autowind 3 makeup table loads the platter fine but won't load to spindle. Checked motor drive assy and runs fine. Tried to jump toggle switch but no cigar. Why isn't spindle load working ? Could it be toggle switch ?

With respect I doubt it's the speed control as it is common to both make-up and breakdown.
Check out both toggle switches.

speed control works ok for the platter so probably not that..I did order an inexpensive toggle switch though.

If it is the speed control(they are almost a joke) then I reccomend rebuilding the MUT with a 2 amp variac, 20 amp block type bridge rectifier and 2 amp circuit breaker. Replace the speed control with these parts and you'll never ever have a problem with your MUT again. These parts only coast a little more than the list price of the new speed control from Christie anyway. Build up is also a little bit faster as well.
